In a shocking and deeply distressing incident, Mark Shankar, the eight-year-old son of Jana Sena Party president and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, suffered injuries in a fire mishap that occurred at his school in Singapore on Tuesday morning.
What Happened?
According to an official post shared by the Jana Sena Party on X (formerly Twitter), a fire broke out at Mark Shankar’s school due to unknown reasons. The blaze caused burn injuries to his arms and legs, and the young student also inhaled smoke, which led to respiratory discomfort.
He was quickly transported to a local hospital in Singapore, where he is currently receiving treatment. The tweet read:
“Mark Shankar, the younger son of Mr. Pawan Kalyan who was caught in a fire at school. Injuries to arms and legs… Treatment in hospital (sic).”
Pawan Kalyan’s Response
At the time of the incident, Pawan Kalyan was on an official tour of the Alluri Sitarama Raju district in Andhra Pradesh. Upon hearing the news, party leaders and government officials advised him to shorten his visit and travel to Singapore to be with his son.
However, sources within the party state that he plans to complete scheduled developmental programmes in the region before flying out from Visakhapatnam to be with his son.
